The Met Office has forecast dry and warm weather across York, with temperatures set to rise throughout the weekend.

Saturday will start at around 19C at 6am, but temperatures will dip to about 15C by midday.

The afternoon will see a turnaround, with temperatures climbing back to around 20C by 5pm.

The evening will be particularly warm, with temperatures continuing to rise to 24C by around 10pm.

The chance of rain is low throughout the day, and winds will remain light.

Sunday will start cooler, with temperatures around 12C at 6am, but will warm up quickly to 20C by midday.

The afternoon will see temperatures reaching 22C, with the warmest conditions around 3pm to 5pm.

There is a small chance of a shower around lunchtime, with the probability increasing to 20 per cent around 11am to 12pm, but this will drop to 10 per cent from around 3pm.

Winds will remain very light throughout the day.

The evening will be comfortable, with temperatures around 21C to 22C at 6pm to 7pm, gradually cooling to 16C by 11pm.

The chance of rain will fall from around 10 per cent to below 5 per cent late in the evening.

Overall, the weekend is expected to be warm and generally dry, with only a small chance of a shower on Sunday around lunchtime.
