Prehistoric brick adventure brings extinct creatures to East Yorkshire

A prehistoric adventure has arrived in East Yorkshire, capturing the past with brick models.

Iconic Bricks: Extinction is on display at Sewerby Hall and Gardens in East Yorkshire, featuring 17 large-scale models of extinct creatures, from prehistoric times to the 1930s.

Highlights include a dire wolf, a sabre-toothed tiger, and a mammoth skull, all constructed from bricks.

Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "We are beyond excited to welcome ICONIC BRICKS: Extinction to Sewerby Hall and Gardens this weekend.

"This exhibition proves to be popular with families and visitors alike year after year, and we look forward to seeing everyone’s reaction to this year’s theme.

"There is a full programme of family-friendly events taking place as part of Sewerby’s Summer of Fun, so check out the website and explore what else this fabulous attraction has to offer."

The exhibition is designed for all ages, with interactive photo opportunities including a sit-in egg and dedicated selfie models.

It will remain on display until Sunday, September 13.

Visitors can download the Extinction Trail and purchase day passes via the Iconic Bricks website.

Sewerby Hall, Gardens, and Zoo are open daily, with standard admission charges in place.
