What is the Public Notice Portal?
The Public Notice Portal carries statutory public notices published in local newspapers and is the fastest and most effective way of finding out what is happening in YOUR neighbourhood.
Search the Public Notice Portal A public footpath in South Milford is set to be diverted.
North Yorkshire Council announced the diversion, which affects Public Footpath No. 35.59/11 and 35.57/31, running between grid references 44912 43165 and 44920 43191.
The council confirmed the order on July 17, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The new route alignment will affect the footpath near The Granary.
The order comes into force once the council certifies that work on the new section of the path has been completed.
A copy of the confirmed order and map is available for public viewing, free of charge, at Sherburn and Villages Community Library, Finkle Hill, Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire.
The documents will be available during normal office hours until September 24.

Alternatively, the order and map can be downloaded for free from the council's website at northyorks.gov.uk/pathnotices.
Residents have the right to question the validity of the order.
Any challenge must be made on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, or that any requirement of the Act or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order.
If a resident wishes to question the order, they have six weeks from August 13 to make an application to the High Court.
