A bowler has raised more than £1,500 after completing a 12-hour marathon challenge.

Andy Robinson, a member of Terrington Bowling Club, played from 8am to 8pm on Wednesday, August 5, to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, playing continuously against friends, neighbours, and fellow club members.

The event was blessed with glorious weather, and visitors were kept well fuelled with tea, coffee and a beautiful selection of home make cakes prepared by Andy’s wife Julie.

Andy said ‘I am both delighted and humbled by the extraordinary amount of cash donated on the day and beforehand. I had great fun bowling with lovely people and whilst I was tired and achy at the end my mild discomfort is nothing compared to the trauma suffered daily by MND sufferers. Hopefully the money raised will help to hasten a cure for this dreadful disease.
