A cycle and footpath in York is sealed off by police this evening (Saturday).
The entrance to the path off Wigginton Road is sealed off.
So is the entrance at the junction of Crichton Avenue and Dennings Mews.
Cordon location
A police van is parked on Dennings Mews, the cul de sac off Crichton Avenue.
A PCSO is on guard on the path itself.
On the other side of the bridge, the cordon extends in three directions, and another police officer is on guard.
No one is being allowed under the bridge under Wigginton Road.
The taped off route is part of the orbital cycle path which leads to both New Earswick and Haxby, and Heworth, Tang Hall and Osbaldwick.
