A spokesperson said that fire fighters used GP lines to safely remove the branches.

The incident happened just a day after Emilie North, 21, from Haxby, YOrk, had a lucky escape after a large branch fell on her Fiat 500 while she was driving down Haxby Road on Thursday night (August 13).

She said that she believes the branch fell after it was hit by a passing lorry, which she watched smack into an over-hanging tree on other side of the road from her car.
