Cheese lovers at the Great Yorkshire Show have helped raise a tasty £70,000 for charity.
The total was reached through the show’s popular Cheese Auction, which raised £8,315 at this year’s event.
Funds will support Field Nurse and Saint Michael’s Hospice.
Caroline Bell, chief steward of the cheese and dairy section, said: "For the Cheese Auction at the Great Yorkshire Show to have raised £70,000 over the last 14 years is quite simply phenomenal.
"A huge thank you to show visitors for their generosity and to all the brilliantly talented independent cheesemakers across the UK whose cheese was kindly donated for the auction."
The auction took place on the third day of the show and featured prize-winning cheeses, with some lots selling for up to £400.
It’s a staple of the Great Yorkshire Food Hall and takes place after the judging concludes.
Proceeds are donated to selected charities each year.
