There are many harbour towns around Britain where you can enjoy some fresh fish and sunshine.
However, if you are struggling to pick one to visit, The Telegraph has released a list of the 10 loveliest harbour towns in Britain.
The towns on the list are described as being places where "lobster pots aren't just decorative garden features, and where you can eat crab, dab, and prawns plucked fresh from the waves."
Whitby featured on the list thanks to its "fascinating" past, "quirky" streets, and "superb" seafood restaurants.
What is Whitby like?
On the harbour town, The Telegraph said: "Seafaring runs through the veins of this old ship-building port, where a young Captain Cook learned the ropes.
"Now, it's a leading light in sustainability.
"The old fish auction shed has been turned into the Whitby Lobster Hatchery, which replenishes local stocks and offers visitors a chance to learn about native species (marinediscoverywhitby.co.uk).
"The harbour is also home to the RNLI Lifeboat Museum, to boats offering fishing and wildlife-spotting trips and to award-winning fish suppers at the Magpie Cafe or Trenchers.
"Walk up to the ruined abbey for views, then head to Whitby Distillery, which makes a gin using sustainably sourced seaweed."
West Cliff is the main beach in Whitby with plenty of sand, colourful beach huts, and deckchairs for hire.
The size of the beach makes it ideal for building sandcastles, playing games, and paddling in the sea.
There are a few museums to check out alongside the RNLI Lifeboat Museum such as the Land of Iron and Captain Cook Memorial Museum.
For those who love shopping, Whitby has lots of little shops to explore including bookshops, the Dispensary that sells natural products, foods, and craft items, and the Whitby Distillery.
If you are interested in getting an afternoon tea or sweet treat, you can stop off at Botham’s of Whitby or Franco’s Italian cakes for a coffee.
Of course, there are loads of fish restaurants where you can grab some fresh seafood from the award-winning Quayside and famous Magpie Café to the Beach Shack Bar and Grill, which has "some of the finest views" in Whitby.

Whitby is very easy to reach thanks to its well-located train station that is only a 10-minute walk away from the beach.
If you fancy extending your trip in the area, The Telegraph recommends staying at the Haven, which is only a few minutes away from the town centre and has sea views that overlook the harbour entrance.
