Yorkshire has a packed schedule of events to enjoy this month.

This year’s official Yorkshire Day civic celebration took place in Goole, thanks to Goole Town Council, which brought together civic guests, members of The Yorkshire Society and the local community for 'a fantastic day of Yorkshire pride'.

The programme included a parade, thanksgiving service, plaque unveiling at West Park, a civic lunch, and cricket, topped off with the traditional Yorkshire Flag handover to Hedon Town Council for next year.

Yorkshire music legend Tony Christie, best known for ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo’, brings his farewell tour to the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.

Expect 'an exclusive evening of live music' and a special celebration of Tony’s career in a private dinner setting, on September 19.

Yorkshire writer and campaigner Colin Speakman unveils his new collection, So Let It Be – Collected Poems, at Ilkley Manor House.

With nearly 200 works spanning six decades, the book explores 'Yorkshire’s landscapes, history and people'.

The official launch and book sales will take place on August 28.

Yorkshire Business Fairs return this autumn, kicking off in Leeds on September 9, offering a chance to 'grow your business, make new connections,' and network with local companies, on September 9.
