East Riding of Yorkshire Council announced the decision to shut the road to allow for resurfacing and rekerbing works.

The closure will be in effect from 7pm to midnight, Monday to Friday, from August 31, 2026 until October 14, 2026.

The road will be closed to all through traffic, but emergency vehicles, residents of the Oak Road development, and pedestrians will still have access.

The council clarified that the order for the closure will be in force for a maximum period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever comes first.
