The Whitby Endeavour is being sold for £100K.
The famous replica of Captain Cook’s ship is on the market with Sanderson Weatherall.
It is selling it on behalf of liquidators Edward C Wetton of Gibson Booth Business Solutions & Insolvency.
The replica of the HMS Bark Endeavour, which was sailed by Captain James Cook during his scientific expeditions of 1748, is one of only two in the world.
Another one is found alongside the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney.
It was built first as an educational experience then became a fully licenced themed bar and restaurant venue trading as The Whitby Endeavour.
But Whitby Endeavour Limited went into liquidation in April and the business is shut.
In July 2024 the ship and business went on sale for £1.5 million.
So £100K is a bargain. But if you buy it, you can’t leave it in Whitby.
Sanderson Weatherall states: “Currently moored in Whitby Harbour, however the mooring agreement will expire at the point of sale and therefore the vessel will need to be towed to an alternative trading location.”
