A 13-year-old boy has appeared in the dock charged with 21 offences after burglaries across Darlington.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested yesterday morning (August 13) and charged with 21 offences following an investigation by Darlington CID and Darlington Neighbourhood Team.
They include:
• Three counts of theft of a motor vehicle
• Nine counts of attempted burglary
• Two counts of burglary
• Four counts of vehicle interference
• Two counts of assault
• One count of racially or religiously aggravated common assault
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "The charges relate to several burglaries and attempted burglaries which took place in the Haughton and Whessoe areas of Darlington between July 27 and August 12."
The teenager was remanded in custody and appeared at Newton Aycliffe Youth Court today (August 14).
