A man has been arrested in a County Durham village on suspicion of having sexual communications with a child.
Durham Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man was arrested in Trimdon Station at around 4.15pm on Thursday (August 13).
The police force said that the man remains in police custody at this time while further investigations are carried out.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual communications with a child and remains in police custody while further enquiries are carried out."
