Firefighters battled a field blaze next to an electric substation in Darlington on Thursday (August 13).
A fire crew from Newton Aycliffe was called to a field between Salters Lane and Yarm Road at around 2.40pm, following reports of smoke coming from a farmer's field.
Firefighters stayed at the scene for just under an hour, battling the flames with water hoses.
They left the scene at about 3.45pm.

Crews called twice in one day to farm near Darlington after combine harvester fire
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.50pm yesterday (August 13) to a field fire on Yarm Road in Darlington.
“One fire engine from Newton Aycliffe Fire Station attended, and firefighters used two hose reels and two fire beaters to extinguish the fire before leaving the scene at 3.45pm.”
No cause of the fire has been given yet, but The Northern Echo has contacted County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service and Durham Police for more information.
