Ryanair passengers are being urged not to bring a common toiletry in their hand luggage when flying.
With it being deep into the summer holidays, many families will be jetting off abroad.
Before being able to enjoy your holiday, you have to get through the task of packing, so it is important to keep up to date with what you can and cannot bring with you in either hand luggage or checked luggage.
To help save some space and weight in your checked luggage, you might think about throwing some things in your hand luggage, but you need to be careful with what you put in, as the rules are different for things you can take on board.
What toiletries can I take in my hand luggage on a Ryanair flight?
With many airports scrapping the 100ml liquid rule, you might be thinking of taking all of your toiletries in your hand luggage.
If you are also thinking of packing your razors with your other toiletries, you need to make a few checks before throwing them in your hand luggage.
The Ryanair website states: "Additionally, the following items must not be carried on board, but may be carried as part of your checked baggage:
"Objects with a sharp point or sharp edge —Objects with a sharp point or sharp edge capable of being used to cause serious injury, including razors and razor blades (except safety or disposable razors with enclosed blades and razor heads held in plastic compartments)."
The rules might differ depending on which airline you are flying with, so it is worth checking your airline's website.
However, it is likely that most airlines will have a similar rule for hand luggage.
What other things cannot be packed in my hand luggage?
Ryanair also states that you should not pack items like ski or hiking poles, knives with blades of more than 6 cm, and box cutters, and said "any sharp objects in your checked-in luggage should be securely wrapped to prevent injury to any staff who need to handle it".
Workmen’s tools like crowbars, hammers, drills and drill bits, and tools with a blade of more than 6 cm can also not be taken in your hand luggage.

You are also prohibited from taking blunt instruments like baseball bats, skateboards, snooker cues, and tennis rackets on the plane with you.
Lots of these items can be put into the plane’s hold, but you should check if they are also prohibited in checked luggage.
