Flying can be incredibly uncomfortable if you do not enjoy being stuck in a confined space for hours on end.
If you are not paying for extra legroom or are sitting next to the emergency exits, you might feel like you do not have enough room to sit comfortably.
A holiday is exciting, but it is made even better by a smooth and enjoyable journey beforehand.
Consumer experts Which? have shared advice on what you can do to get yourself some extra legroom on a flight.
How can I get a bit of extra legroom on a flight?
Which? posted a video on its Instagram page explaining how choosing specific seats on a flight can get you a bit of extra legroom.
All you have to do is reserve a seat on the right-hand side of the plane.
In the video, Which? said: "Take Ryanair, for example.
"Almost all of their planes are Boeing 737s.
"So choosing seats D, E and F in rows 3-15 will give you the most legroom.
"With easyJet, meanwhile, you should choose seats D, E or F in rows 3-13, if you're flying on their Airbus A321neo.
"It will give you an extra inch of legroom compared to sitting in rows 6-17 on the left-hand side of the plane."
While it only gives you an extra inch of space, this can make a difference if you are travelling particularly far for some extra comfort.
Which? added that all planes are different, so it is worth checking before your flight.
How to get through long haul flights
People have taken to Reddit to share their tips on how to get through a long haul flight with one user saying its about your "mindset" and taking the flight as time to "switch your brain off".
Another user wrote: “I don’t go in with the intention of sleeping. Get some noise cancelling headphones, line up a bunch of comfort movies on the in flight entertainment, and just let them play.
“For me this helps pass the time and usually I’ll fall asleep to them like background noise when I’m tired enough.”
