A Darlington man received a suspended 12-month prison sentence for burglary and theft of £8 in cash from a home.
Edvardas Kaduskevicius, of Whessoe Road, Darlington, admitted entering Carmel Road North on September 11, 2025, as a trespasser and stealing £8.
The incident was classed as burglary dwelling and theft without violence.

Kaduskevicius indicated a guilty plea at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on August 11.
The court imposed a 12-month custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months, due to the seriousness of the offence and what the court described as a “flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
The court ordered Kaduskevicius to pay £8 compensation, £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £187 victim surcharge.
