A North East business networking event will bring together sales and marketing experts to help companies identify new opportunities for growth and development.

Organised by Sunderland-based wealth management firm Northern Spire, the free breakfast briefing will take place at Ramside Hall Hotel on Friday, September 11, and is already attracting significant interest.

David Cook, founder and managing partner of Northern Spire, said: "Our September event is the latest in a long line of our briefings for local businesses and well over 100 tickets have been snapped up already.

"As usual we have some top panellists to discuss our topic – sales and marketing should always be a top priority for any business wanting to grow.

"Our panel brings together four experienced North East business leaders who have successfully built brands, generated sales and grown businesses.

"Expect practical insights, honest discussion and plenty of ideas you can take back to your own business."

The expert panel includes Neil Stephenson, owner of Stephenson Ventures; Sarah O’Mahoney, director at Bradley O’Mahoney; Phil Coverdale, chief executive at Cravens; and Simon West, co-founder of Blair West.

Ms O’Mahoney said: "Whatever stage a company is at in its journey, its reputation is, first and foremost, the most important factor in determining how successful it will be in the long term.

"Whether the aim is increased sales, third party investment, or a sale of the firm, business owners must ensure they not only position themselves well in the market but that their behaviours and actions mirror their brand values.

"If the two are not aligned a company’s reputation is at risk."

Networking opportunities will be available both before and after the discussion.

Mr Cook said: "As always, there'll be plenty of opportunity to network with fellow business owners over tea and coffee before and after the panel discussion."
