After an exceptionally warm spell with temperatures peaking at 27C, conditions in Darlington and County Durham will turn cooler and fresher, with highs settling in the low 20s and only a small chance of rain.
Friday is set for to be very warm with dry conditions throughout the day and only a slight chance of precipitation developing around midday and early afternoon.
Temperatures remain high overnight, dropping from 21C at midnight to 17C by 6am before climbing rapidly through the morning.
The mercury reaches 23C by 9am, 25C by 11am and 26C by midday.
The afternoon sees temperatures peak at 27C at 2pm before settling at 26C through much of the remainder of the day.
The chance of precipitation rises to 20 per cent between 11am and 3pm before easing back to 10 per cent during the late afternoon and falling below five per cent during the evening.
Temperatures remain exceptionally warm after sunset, standing at 22C at 8pm before falling to 17C by 11pm.
Saturday will be cooler but remains largely dry from start to finish.
Temperatures fall from 16C at midnight to 12C around dawn before gradually recovering through the morning.
It reaches 17C by 9am, 20C at midday and a high of 22C during the afternoon.
Temperatures hold at 22C between 2pm and 5pm before easing down through the evening, reaching 18C by 8pm and 15C by 11pm.
The chance of precipitation remains below five per cent throughout almost the entire day, with only a brief increase to 10 per cent at 9pm.
Sunday begins cooler, with temperatures falling from 14C at midnight to 11C by 6am.
The chance of precipitation increases during the early hours, rising from 10 per cent overnight to 20 per cent at 5am and reaching 30 per cent between 6am and 8am.
Temperatures then begin a steady recovery, climbing to 15C by 9am, 19C at midday and 22C by 3pm.
The chance of precipitation gradually falls back to 20 per cent during the morning and then to 10 per cent from late morning onwards.
Temperatures ease back through the evening, dropping from 20C at 6pm to 16C by 10pm and remaining there through the end of the day.
