CREWS were called to a field fire that has spread to a line of trees in North Yorkshire this afternoon (Thursday).

Malton, Acomb and Sherburn fire crew responded to the blaze in a stubble field which spread into a treeline of approximately 100m at Langton Lane, Settrington.

Hose reels and beaters were used to extinguish the fire.
