Sloppy's Bar & Kitchen, at 1 Castlegate, has submitted a request to the City of York Council for permission to sell alcohol.

The proposed hours for alcohol sales are Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 11pm, and on Sundays from 12pm to 10pm.

The application was made by Molly Ava McGrath on August 4.

The public can view the Licensing Application Register by contacting the City of York Council Licensing Team at Hazel Court, EcoDepot, James Street, York, YO10 3DS, between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Anyone wishing to make a representation regarding the application can do so in writing to the City of York Council Licensing Team at the same address, or via email to licensing@york.gov.uk.

The application is open to feedback until September 1, 2026.

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application for the grant of a premises licence or club premises certificate.

Those found guilty of such an offence are liable to an unlimited fine.
