East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced the temporary prohibition of all vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and horses on Ballhall Lane, Storwood.

The closure is scheduled to commence on August 17, 2026 and is expected to last three days.

The shutdown is to allow essential roadworks to take place, ensuring the safety of the public.

Despite the closure, the road will remain accessible to pedestrians and vehicles requiring access to properties directly affected by the closure.

Emergency services will also retain access to the road at all times.

The council has suggested an alternative route for affected traffic via Langrickgate Lane, Postern Lane, and Gatehead Lane, in Cottingwith CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.

The order for the closure, named the East Riding of Yorkshire Council (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2026, will remain in effect for up to 18 months or until the completion of the proposed works, whichever comes earlier.
