Search the Public Notice Portal Yarm’s new look Aldi supermarket has reopened to shoppers after an almost ten-week revamp.
The supermarket chain finally welcomed customers back to its extended Healaugh Park store after 68 days this morning (August 13).
The refurb means shoppers now benefit from 1244 square metres of retail space offering an “enhanced, convenient, and varied shopping experience”.
Construction has been ongoing on the project since March, where crews have knocked into the former Whitworth Chemist to make way for the extension.
This has allowed for an extra aisle within the store, with the interior also getting a new look after being fully gutted during the closure.

The shop has also been extended to the front for a new staff room and customer toilets and has a modern new entrance space.
Inside, there are now clearer signs to “make shopping effortless” with bread and cakes being moved to the last aisle to stop them getting squashed under shopping.
The store also now boasts new “easy to browse” freezers.
Aldi - which had been considering expanding the shop “for some time” - first announced the plans last year before councillors approved the move in December.

Despite the extension, the overall car parking spaces have actually increased to 89, with 85 customer spaces to the south and four staff spots to the north.
The store will be run by manager Faye Linley-Hunter, along with a team of 28 colleagues from the community, two of which are new roles.
Ms Linley-Hunter said: “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as new customers, and supplying our local community with the everyday amazing products we have available.
