It's important to stay safe outdoors as hot weather prevails and be careful about where you park your car.
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service has urged people to be especially cautious this week, as temperatures reach over 30C.
A spokesman for the service said: "It's set to be another hot day.
"We're asking people to please think before they act to prevent the risk of a fire from breaking out."
They added: "Please don't use disposable BBQs or light campfires.
"Don't throw cigarette butts on the ground and take your rubbish home, as reflective items can start a blaze."
A social media video from the service recommends that people do not park their cars on dry grass or vegetation.
They added: "It only takes one spark to cause devastation."
The warning follows several recent fires across the region.
Cleveland Fire Brigade has also urged the public to take extra care, especially in parks, beaches and the countryside.
A spokesman for the brigade said: "Leave the BBQ at home - pack a picnic instead.
"BBQs and open flames can quickly start fires when grass and vegetation are dry."
The fire service is also reminding people to take rubbish home, particularly glass bottles, which can pose a fire risk.
People are also being reminded to stay hydrated, check on vulnerable neighbours and avoid leaving children or pets in parked cars.
Brigades are asking people to help keep communities safe and avoid anything that could start a fire.
