Drivers on the A66 are being warned hours of delays are expected as a police-led convoy transports an "abnormal load" to Darlington.
The load began travelling from Redcar at 10am along the A66.
Cleveland Police has advised motorists to expect potential delays.
They added that drivers should plan and consider alternative routes to avoid disruptions.
A police spokesperson added: "Thank you for your patience and co-operation while this essential movement takes place."
Delays on the route are expected to last for several hours.
