A man has received four penalty points after being caught speeding on the A693 in Chester-le-Street.
Patrick Gallagher, of Sherburn Gardens, Stanks Drive, Leeds, was committed the offence on January 21.
Manned equipment detected him driving his Peugeot above the 30 mph speed limit on the A693 Blind Lane, a restricted road in County Durham.
Gallagher changed his plea to guilty at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on January 26.

At a hearing on August 10, the court imposed a fine of £396, taking the guilty plea into account.
Gallagher was also ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim services surcharge of £158.
His driving record was endorsed with four penalty points. A collection order was made, requiring all payments by September 7.
