A County Durham woman has been banned after being caught drink driving.
Gemma Streeter, of Dixon Street, Consett, admitted driving with excess alcohol when she appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on August 10.
The court heard that on May 2, Streeter drove a black Audi A3 on Grassholme Close, Consett, with 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The prescribed legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
The 32-year-old pleaded guilty and was given a mandatory 17-month disqualification, which may be reduced if she completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course by July 12, 2027.

She was also fined £120, ordered to pay £85 towards Crown Prosecution Service costs, and a £48 victim surcharge.
The court allowed Streeter to pay in monthly instalments of £40, starting August 24.
Streeter’s guilty plea was considered when sentencing.
