A North Yorkshire town is set to sparkle this Christmas with a packed programme of festive attractions, family experiences and seasonal entertainment.
In Harrogate, Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID) is working with Visit North Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Council, Harrogate Town Council and Victoria Shopping Centre to launch a new programme designed to bring festive cheer to the heart of the community.
Jason Maxwell, chief executive of Harrogate BID, said: "We're delighted to be working with Visit North Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Council, Harrogate Town Council and Victoria Shopping Centre to deliver a new festive programme for Harrogate this Christmas.
"Christmas is one of the most important times of the year for our town centre businesses, and this programme has been designed to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere that encourages people to spend time in Harrogate, support local businesses and enjoy everything our town has to offer."
The Harrogate BID festive programme will feature Santa's Grotto, two interactive curling rinks, a giant snow globe, and an Ice Trail with five sculptures displayed throughout the town centre on Saturday, December 12.
A Christmas market will return to Valley Gardens on December 5 and 6, alongside the covered Harrogate Ice Pavilion, which will be open from December 17 to January 3, excluding Christmas Day.
Councillor Mark Crane, deputy leader of North Yorkshire Council, said: "We are delighted to be working alongside Harrogate BID and local partners to support an exciting programme of festive events that will make Harrogate a must-visit destination this Christmas.
