Firework Championships to light up the skies over Newby Hall in Ripon

The skies above Newby Hall and Gardens will be alight with spectacular pyrotechnic displays this weekend when the estate hosts its annual Fireworks Championships.

Three of the UK’s leading fireworks companies will compete for the title this on Saturday, August 22.

Each team will put on a 10‑minute display choreographed to music, with visitors voting for their favourite via SMS. The competition will conclude with a huge finale display, promising one of the most spectacular nights of the summer.

Stuart Gill, commercial director at Newby Hall, said: “Our annual fireworks championships feature stunning displays by some of the UK’s leading fireworks companies. It’s a popular evening of entertainment for all the family set in the beautiful parkland at Newby.”

Gates open at 4pm, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy a picnic with friends and family before an 8.45pm drone show and the first fireworks at 9pm. Camping is available from 1pm for those wishing to make a weekend of it.
