A York student is off to study at the University of Cambridge after securing a glowing set of A-Level results.
Fulford School pupil Beth Ravilious was celebrating on Thursday (August 13) after being accepted into the prestigious university to study natural sciences.
She achieved two A*s and two As after excelling in her A-Levels.
The 18-year-old decided to study natural sciences as she is interested in maths and science, and said the course would allow her to “combine them both”.
Beth’s mother, Kate Ravilious, said she was “delighted” by her daughter's results, adding: “An anxious wait is over.”

Beth’s friend, Ellie Rowson, also achieved exceptional A-Level results – three A*s and an A – and will be studying geophysics at the University of Leeds.
Ellie, 18, said she decided to study geophysics because "it combines everything I like about volcanoes and maths".
Fulford School’s headteacher, Russell Harris, said the school was “really, really pleased with those outcomes. I think that’s what today is about – the celebration of those fantastic outcomes and the next steps.”
The results day, he said, "makes me feel extremely privileged to be a head teacher of any school, but even more so to be the head teacher of Fulford School with such amazing students. They are just wonderful people.”
