It has stayed true to its roots and is still going strong today, with the 164th edition held on Wednesday (Aug 12).
The show is held at Vicarage Field, opposite the equally historic 19th-century Danby Vicarage.
Like many of Yorkshire’s other agricultural shows, it is a celebration of the local community and the hard work put in by those who come from near and far to show their livestock.
