York hairdresser named finalist at top national awards for fifth time

A York hairdresser has been named a finalist in the British Hairdressing Awards 2026.

Ross Charles, owner of Ross Charles Hairdressing, is in the running for the North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year title, which celebrates creativity, technical skill, and artistic vision.

This is the fifth time Mr Charles has reached the finals of the prestigious awards.

The British Hairdressing Awards ceremony will take place in November 2026 and is considered one of the most important events in the professional hairdressing calendar.

The first stage of judging took place in July 2026, with a panel of industry experts reviewing hundreds of entries across 18 categories.

Judges praised the high standard of work, noting the creativity, skill, and originality on display.

The second round of judging will take place in early October 2026 to decide the winners.

The awards celebrate the individuals and teams shaping the future of the industry.
