A tearoom and village store in one of the most remote parts of the Yorkshire Dales has earned a near-perfect reputation from visitors, with customers calling it "as good as it gets" and "a little gem."
Muker Village Store & Teashop, in the tiny Swaledale village of Muker, currently holds a 4.9-star rating on Tripadvisor and scores 4.9 out of five for both its food and service.
Visitors regularly praise its homemade food, friendly welcome, and scenic setting, with many stopping off after walks and cycle rides through the surrounding Yorkshire Dales countryside.
One recent visitor described it as "genuinely one of the best tea rooms I can remember visiting."
They added: "Friendly staff who're clearly passionate about the food they serve and what food it is!

The business combines a traditional tearoom with a village shop stocking everyday essentials and locally made produce.
Its owners describe it as "probably one of the remotest village stores in England," relying on local suppliers to keep shelves stocked for residents, walkers, and people staying in Swaledale.
Products include local milk, free-range eggs from Muker, Swaledale and Wensleydale cheeses, Grumpy Mule coffee, Yorkshire Dales Brewing Company ale, Yorkshire crisps, and Swaledale honey.
The store also stocks maps, guidebooks, postcards, and gifts, while walkers can pick up sandwiches, homemade snacks, and drinks for packed lunches and picnics.
Many of the tea shop's products are handmade.
These include Yorkshire pickle, mixed pepper chutney, fruitcakes, flapjacks, brownies, tray bakes, and sausage rolls.
The homemade food is repeatedly singled out in Tripadvisor reviews.
One customer who visited after a walk praised a lunch of Welsh rarebit and a sausage sandwich while sitting outside enjoying the views.
They said the Americano was "absolutely delicious" and described the food as reasonably priced and made using good-quality ingredients.
Another visitor praised a ham and homemade Yorkshire chutney sandwich alongside chocolate mousse cake, describing the business as "a gem of a tea shop in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales."
They added that a fire in the grate and attentive service made it a "delightful stop off" in Swaledale.
One reviewer described their lunch simply as "a proper sandwich," while another called a freshly made cheese sandwich "outstanding."

A regular visitor said they return every time they come to Swaledale, adding that the homemade cakes, served with a small pot of cream, make a repeat visit worthwhile.
Another customer who ordered a cream tea praised the "amazing" scones and outstanding service.
A separate reviewer described the homemade scones as "wonderfully light and fresh."
The tearoom has seating inside and outside, with visitors frequently recommending the outdoor tables for views across the surrounding countryside.
Dogs are also welcome.
Its remote setting is a large part of the appeal, with Muker surrounded by some of Swaledale's best-known walking and cycling country.
