Dog owners in Darlington can now give their pooches a quick wash while picking up their shopping.
The Dog Wash Company has installed a self-service dog wash unit at Co-op Food on West Auckland Road, offering what it describes as a "quick, easy" and "stress free" clean-up stop for four-legged family members.
The facility is at the Co-op store at 25 to 58 West Auckland Road, Darlington, DL3 9EP.
The store is open seven days a week, from 7 am until 10 pm.
Announcing the Darlington site in May, The Dog Wash Company said: "A self-service dog wash is now live at Co op Food Darlington, West Auckland Road, making it easier than ever to freshen up your pup while you’re out and about.
"Quick, easy, and designed for life on the go, no booking, no hassle, just a stress free clean up stop for your four legged family member."
The Dog Wash Company describes itself as the UK’s leading supplier of self-service dog wash machines and says it works with more than 60 partners across more than 70 locations.
The business says it was founded to make self-service dog washing more accessible for dog owners while creating an additional revenue opportunity for businesses.
Self-service dog wash stations have also become increasingly common across the North East.
Separate providers operate facilities at locations including Blyth Beach, Whitley Bay, Plessey Woods Country Park, Rising Sun Country Park, South Shields, Winlaton Mill and Roker Beach.
