A County Durham entrepreneur has been recognised among the UK's most innovative business leaders after being selected for a prestigious national award programme.
Kate Murray, founder and CEO of Consett-based housing technology company Ubrix, is one of just 100 winners of the Innovate UK Women in Innovation Awards - chosen from nearly 1,600 applications.
The awards recognise women founders leading businesses with the potential to deliver significant economic and societal impact.

Ms Murray said: "This recognition is big news for Ubrix, but it is bigger news for housing.
"A national panel of innovation experts looked at how this industry delivers homes, saw the cost of fragmented systems, and backed our answer to it.
"This award tells them the way housing is delivered is changing, and it tells the industry where that change is coming from."
She was recognised for her efforts to address fragmentation in UK residential construction, where disconnected sales, build and aftercare systems often lead to lost data and accountability.

Ubrix’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform offers a single, integrated solution covering the full plot lifecycle, from reservation to end-of-defects.
The recognition includes a 12-month bespoke business support package and access to Innovate UK’s national innovation network.
Applications are assessed by an expert panel against the scale of the problem being solved, the strength of the solution, the market opportunity and the capability of the founder.
