A County Durham man has been disqualified from driving for a year after admitting to drug driving in Shildon.
Justin Bennett, 54, of no fixed abode but last linked to Spennymoor, appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on August 7.
Bennett pleaded guilty to driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the legal limit.
The incident took place on February 3, when Bennett was behind the wheel of a black Skoda Superb on Albert Street, Shildon.

A blood test showed Bennett had 6.9 micrograms per litre of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), above the specified limit.
Magistrates imposed a mandatory 12-month driving ban, fined him £120, and ordered him to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court said Bennett’s guilty plea was taken into account when sentencing.
