Three fire crews tackle crop fire near Ripon

Firefighters from three stations joined together to tackle a crop fire near Ripon on Tuesday afternoon.

The call for assistance was received at 2.39pm.

Crews from Ripon, Harrogate and Northallerton responded to a report of a field of standing crops on fire at Givendale.

On arrival the crew found a fire covering approximately 300m x 300m.

Crews fought the fire while farm machinery was used to create fire breaks.
