An 82-year-old York woman reported missing has been found safe and well, police said.
North Yorkshire Police said concerns were growing for the woman after she was reported missing on Wednesday morning (August 12) - ahead of highs of 31C being forecast for York.
The force said the woman was "known known to frequent the Heslington, Fulford” and University of York areas, urging anyone who saw her to dial 999.
A police spokesperson on Wednesday afternoon confirmed the woman had been found safe and well.
"Earlier today, we issued an appeal to help locate a woman in her 80s who had been reported missing in the York area," they said.
"We are pleased to report that she was found by officers a short time ago.
"Thankfully, she is safe and well.
"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal. Your support plays a vital role in helping us locate missing people and bring them to safety as quickly as possible."
