Farsley: More than 120 homes to be built on site of former Lloyds Bank

Building work is set to start on an affordable homes scheme in Leeds after the city council gave planning permission.

Developer Breck Homes will build 120 flats and houses at a former Lloyds bank call centre site in Farsley.

Breck said construction work was due to start in November and the project would be complete by December 2029.

The company was in talks with a housing provider which would buy the Cote Lane development when it is completed.

“Focus now turns to progressing the development and creating another new, thriving community of affordable homes in Yorkshire.”

The project near the Dawson’s Corner roundabout was given approval last week by Leeds City Council’s West Plans Panel.

The vacant site will be redeveloped into one and two-bedroom flats and three and four-bedroom houses for shared ownership and affordable rent.

Permission was subject to financial contributions from the developer, including more than £260,000 towards improvements to green spaces elsewhere in the city.

Lloyds banking group said it had helped finance more than £23bn worth of social housing schemes since 2018 through commercial lending and deal-making.
