British Transport Police officers, investigating an assault on a train travelling from London to Scotland via York, are appealing for witnesses.
At around 11.20am on Sunday 2 August, a woman was punched several times and kicked by a male.
Several people came to the woman’s aid as the male fled to another part of the train.
The incident happened on a London King’s Cross to York and Aberdeen service, whilst the train was travelling between Newark Northgate and Doncaster.
The suspect is described as white, around 15-20 years-old, of slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing a light blue baseball cap, black jacket, white t-shirt with black writing on the front and black shorts.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should come forward and speak to British Transport Police.
