North Yorkshire Police are currently investigating a number of deliberate fires that have been started in and around Tadcaster over recent weeks
Starting fires may seem insignificant to some, but the consequences can be devastating. Arson puts lives at risk, endangers emergency service personnel, causes significant damage to property and the environment, and can have a lasting impact on victims and the wider community.
Officers are actively investigating these incidents and are appealing for the community’s help. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who:
Has witnessed any suspicious behaviour linked to fires in the area.
Knows who may be responsible for setting fires.
Has photographs, videos or other evidence relating to these incidents.
Has seen content on social media platforms, including Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram or other messaging services, that may assist enquiries.
If you have any information, please contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their website.
They say they appreciate the support of communities in helping identify those responsible and prevent further incidents from occurring.
