A York bar has announced it is closing.
Wet, which opened on Micklegate last October, will shut for good in September.
It follows a large hike in rent, the team says.
Number 110 Micklegate had previously been home to Fish and Forest. When it moved to Grape Lane, Notes Wine Bar moved in before Wet took over last autumn.
Wet offers range of drinks including cocktails, alongside small plates and bar snacks.
In a statement posted on their socials, the team said: “Unfortunately we will be closing up shop on the 20th September.
“We were never meant to be here forever, but a considerable rent increase means we’ll have to walk away from the bar sooner than we thought.

“That doesn’t mean we’ll be gone completely, we’ll still have some smaller scale projects going so keep an eye out for us around town.
“Thanks for all your support so far, come and see us at 110 Micklegate before the 20th Sept!”
The bar’s many patrons were dismayed. “That’s a huge shame guys. You filled a much needed gap in York for quality cocktails and your food and wine was fab too,” one wrote.
Another said: “Adore you both and the community you made.”
A third commented: “We have loved visiting you, and bringing along friends from outside of York, to get a fix out great food, cocktails and vibes.”
