A "consistently funny" Teesside comedian is preparing to take the biggest step of her comedy career by performing her first solo show at a major festival.
Helen White will debut her show Am I Taller Yet? at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival - becoming the only female comic representing Teesside with a solo show.
The Middlesbrough performer has been supported by Newcastle-based CIC collective Felt Nowt, with the production directed by fellow North East comedian and writer Lee Kyle.

The show follows the story of what Helen describes as a "pint-sized middle-aged woman navigating big-sized chaos" - drawing on her experiences of childhood, marriage, divorce, family court, parenting and menopause.
Promoters say the show combines sharp observations with personal storytelling, exploring everything from parenting mishaps to teenage turmoil and the challenges of later life.
Speaking ahead of her Fringe debut, Helen said: "I feel privileged to have been asked and I think people can relate to the topics I weave into my comedy."
The show's title - Am I Taller Yet? - reflects the idea that personal growth is measured not in height but in resilience - sharing lessons learned throughout Helen's life with humour and honesty.
She first entered the comedy circuit in 2022 after graduating from the Jill Edwards Comedy Workshops, which has previously helped develop big-name comedians including Romesh Ranganathan, Jimmy Carr, Seann Walsh and Angela Barnes.
Since then, she has quickly built a reputation on the stand-up circuit.
In 2024, she reached the semi-finals of the British Comedian of the Year competition and was previously named a "One to Watch" by Felt Nowt.

Helen has also supported several established comedians, including Arthur Smith and fellow Middlesbrough comic Patrick Monahan.
Her growing profile has earned praise from comedy venues and reviewers alike.
Manford's Comedy Club described Helen as "warm, confident, relatable and consistently funny", while The Stand Newcastle called her "accessible, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable".
A reviewer for the Rotherham Advertiser also praised Helen's "dry, yet cheeky and fun delivery" and her ability to tackle real-life themes through comedy.
The Edinburgh Fringe, the world's largest arts festival, runs throughout August and regularly serves as a launching pad for emerging comedy talent from across the UK.
