Residents have come together to mark the completion a £16 million regeneration programme that has transformed hundreds of homes and reshaped a North East housing estate.
The scheme, delivered by Beyond Housing, has revitalised the Church Lane North estate in Grangetown, Greater Eston and improved 318 homes through major refurbishment, layout changes, and upgraded facilities.
Work began in 2020 following consultation with residents and was completed with the community able to remain in their homes throughout the entire process.

Rachael Crooks, Community Partnership & Engagement Manager at Beyond Housing, said: "We appreciate that the work brought disruption, noise and at times mess, so it was great to be able to host this event as a thank you for bearing with us as the regeneration work was completed.
"It was fantastic to see the community come together and enjoy the newly created central open space and we hope that residents will continue to make the most of this space in the future."
The improvements were based on residents’ priorities, including private gardens, additional parking, greater privacy, and easier routes through the neighbourhood.
Existing homes received insulation and external improvements, while the estate was reconfigured to create larger gardens, improved access, and better parking.
Older properties were demolished to allow for a simpler layout and the construction of new homes in a variety of sizes and styles.
New properties have been offered for affordable rent, shared ownership, and rent to buy, helping to meet diverse housing needs in the area.
A new central open space was also created to encourage socialising and outdoor activities.
A community celebration was held to mark the completion of the project.
Residents and their families were joined by Beyond Housing staff and project partners for an afternoon of food, entertainment, and family activities.

Ben Briggs, Beyond Housing Regeneration Manager, said: "Church Lane North is our flagship regeneration scheme which has seen over £16m of much needed investment brought to this community.
"It was fantastic to join residents to officially mark the completion of the scheme, which has seen a once failing estate transformed to meet the needs and expectations of residents both now and well into the future."
The celebration also gave residents a chance to start using the new open space, which is designed to promote community interaction and outdoor recreation.
