Full casting has been unveiled for the comedy Pride and Prejudice*(* sort of), which is heading to Darlington.

The production, written and directed by Isobel McArthur and described as an "audacious" reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic novel, will run at Darlington Hippodrome from November 23 to 28.

Georgia Firth returns to the show in the role of Elizabeth Bennet, joined by Eva Hope as Jane Bennet and Lady Catherine de Burgh.

Roxanne Morgan will play Mary Bennet, Lydia Bennet, and Mr Gardiner, while Julia Murray takes on the roles of Mrs Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy.

Phoebe Marshall rounds out the cast as Charlotte Lucas, Charles Bingley, and Miss Bingley.

The company will also include covers Emily Cruz, Grace Farrell, and Anastasia Sims-Chin.

David Pugh, producer, said: "Pride and Prejudice*(* sort of) has become one of the world's biggest successes, from touring to Canada to just triumphantly opening in Australia and I'm delighted that this new production is coming to Darlington Hippodrome."

The show promises a fresh and irreverent take on Austen’s celebrated romance, blending sharp humour with pop classics including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and You’re So Vain.

Set in the 1800s, the story unfolds amid wild parties and cut-throat matchmaking.
