A six-year-old girl whose touching message at a Darlington community event captured the hearts of a healthcare training team has been found following an appeal to trace her family.
Clinivi Education launched a search for the youngster after she left a Post-it note bearing the words “Helping sick people” at Whinfield Summer Fair in Darlington on Saturday, August 1.
The Darlington-based healthcare training provider had invited visitors to answer the question: “What makes you happy?” as part of its activities at the fair.
Hundreds of people of all ages took part, but the young girl’s simple response stood out to the Clinivi Education team.
After sharing an appeal in the hope of finding her and her family, the company has now confirmed that the girl has been identified and is just six years old after the post got 11,000 views.
Clinivi Education plans to recognise her compassion by offering her a free Mini Medics first aid course, giving her the chance to learn basic first aid skills and understand what she can do to help someone in an emergency.

Paul Edwards, from Clinivi Education, said the team was delighted that the appeal had helped them find her.
He said: “We are absolutely thrilled that we have been able to find the young girl behind the message.
“When we saw her answer, ‘Helping sick people’, it immediately stood out to us. To learn that she is only six makes it even more special.
“As a healthcare education provider, so much of what we do is about giving people the knowledge and confidence to help others, and she already seems to have that instinct to care for people at such a young age.
“We wanted to recognise that kindness and encourage it, which is why we would love to offer her a free Mini Medics first aid course.
“Hopefully, she will enjoy learning some new skills, and it will show her that something as simple as wanting to help other people is something worth celebrating.

Clinivi Education attended Whinfield Summer Fair to meet members of the community, offer first aid advice and hand out small gifts.
Its “What makes you happy?” activity attracted hundreds of responses, with answers submitted by both children and adults throughout the event.
