'Prince' of chicken parmo hails Durham takeaway as 'banging' for the famous treat

Parmo and More has become the latest takeaway provider to receive a near-perfect score from ‘The Parmo Prince’.

The TikToker rose to fame through his widespread reviews of various food spots across the North East - and recently he found himself visiting the Crook takeaway.

He went with one question in mind: Is this the best parmo in County Durham?

The Hope Street spot prides itself on avoiding "overwhelming prices" despite the cost of living crisis - a sentiment that impressed the creator early on.

The takeaway is best known for its pizzas, burgers, donner meat, chips, and snack boxes.

The Parmo Prince started with the Mini Munch box (costing £9.50) - which includes a seven-inch pizza, red donner meat, chips and a chicken parmo.

The self-proclaimed expert labelled the new red donner option as “not too thick, not too thin”, and described the chips as both “crunchy and fluffy.”

The North East viral man, who boasts over 20,000 TikTok followers, said: "I finally made the trip to Parmo & More in Crook to see if it lives up to the hype.

"From the crispy chicken to the béchamel, cheese, chips and overall flavour, I put it to the test and gave my honest rating. Would you agree with my score?"

The real question though was the taste of the parmo - and whether it really was the best in Durham.

The answer came mere seconds later as The Parmo Prince labelled it as “heavy."

He added: "[It's] nice and crisp on the bottom, nice layer of béchamel, loads of cheese - that is banging."

The viral man also checked out the takeaway's Variety Box (priced at £9.50) and was left impressed by the addition of a smash burger.

In his final review, he gave Parmo and More a "solid" nine out of 10 - a score that lines up with the 4.5 rating the takeaway has online.

One reviewer wrote: “Amazing food again. Piping hot. Chicken tender and crispy.”

"Looks nice," one said on TikTok.

Other food fans are providing high praise for Parmo and More, which has received over 200 five-star reviews.

The takeaway has a 5-star hygiene rating - and appears the perfect place to get a taste of the famed dish.
