A high-value mountain bike has been reported stolen from York city centre.
The theft of the blue Trek Remedy bike, which has an estimated value of £1,500, happened between 9.55am and 10.20am on Monday (August 10).
The victim said they had initially secured the bike at the cycle racks between Prezzo and York Cocoa Works with a lock that was subsequently cut by the alleged thief.
Two child’s cycle helmets, in purple and blue, that were attached to the bike were also taken, North Yorkshire Police confirmed.
The bike included a child’s seat that was fitted to the frame.
Officers say they have obtained CCTV footage which shows a man riding away on the bike from Castlegate to Cumberland Street and possibly towards the river.
The man is described as 40 to 50-years-old, and was wearing blue jeans, a blue long-sleeved top, a dark body warmer and a black cap with a bright yellow reflective square/logo on the front.
