Scissor Sisters in Halifax: 14 photos as glam pop icons turn Halifax's Piece Hall courtyard into a giant dance floor

Disco fever filled Halifax’s Piece Hall last night as Scissor Sisters performed a euphoric sold-out show.

The glam pop icons burst onto the stage with their anthem I Don’t Feel Like Dancing before tearing through Laura and She’s My Man to get the party off to a flying start.

Frontman Jake Shears, alongside Del Marquis, Babydaddy, their band and vocalists, kept the packed historic courtyard dancing with a hit-filled set spanning the band's career, including Tits on the Radio, I Can’t Decide, Take Your Mama, Fire with Fire, Comfortably Numb and Let’s Have A Kiki.

As the night built towards its finale, the band delivered Only The Horses, before Shears reflected on Scissor Sisters' remarkable journey and their emotional return to the stage: “We started writing songs 25 years ago, then we went away for a little while. We came back last summer, and it’s been such a joy to play shows again and see all your wonderful faces.

“Some of you may have seen us before, some of you may never have seen us, but we welcome you all to the Scissor hood!”

Special guests Bimini and The Hidden Cameras got the Sunday night party started, with both acts also making guest appearances alongside the headliners.

Live at The Piece Hall continues on Friday with Jimmy Eat World, followed by Holly Johnson on Saturday.
