Plans have been revealed to give a former private school building in York a new lease of life.
Number 37 Dalton Terrace is set to be transformed into an arts centre.
It was formerly part of The Mount School.
Rechristened The Moxie Centre for Art, it is due to open in stages, starting later this year. A full planning application will be submitted soon.

The new owners have revealed their plans on a new website launched yesterday.
Here’s a breakdown of what will be coming.
Gallery
This will be free to enter, and feature curated exhibitions. Shows will include both original visual art and photography, as well as “more experimental artwork like immersive installations or sound art”.
Artist Studios
There will be around 15 affordable studios, ranging in size from a desk to a 60 sq ft partitioned space. “Studio artists can exhibit their work in an annual group show in the gallery, get discounts around the building, and work alongside peers who’ll push their practice further,” the website says.
The studios are let by the month. The Moxie owners say there’ll be no long lease commitments. “You can stay for a season or for years.”
Photography Studio and Darkroom
This 1,000 sq ft photography studio will be available to hire by the hour. The website says it will “suit commercial photographers as much as ambitious amateurs”.
There will also be a fully-equipped photographers’ darkroom, for developing film.
Meeting Room
The Moxie is planning to stage artist talks, workshops and “practical help with the business of being an artist”, all based in the Meeting Room. Again it can be hired for events, club meetings and workshops.
The Café
Every arts venue needs a café and The Moxie is planning one too. The website says: “A counter-service cafe at the heart of the building, serving coffee, tea, and snacks. A small shop alongside sells darkroom supplies, artist postcards, and prints.”
